The Lady Elks placed 2nd at the Lady Elk Invitational at Yankee Trace this past Monday. 13 teams participated. Molly Skapik of Miamisburg also shot a 75 and Beavercreek's Gabby Marcum was third with a 77. Kulkarni's 75 ties the GWOC Pre and Post Tournament low set by Miamisburg's Erica Allenspach in 2006. This is also a Lady Elks low score at the GWOC. Freshman Esha Kulkarni also received a medal (5th place) on Friday by shooting an 85 in her first high school tournament. The CHS varsity girl's golf team shot a 342 to win the GWOC Post-Season Tournament by 32 strokes. This is the 3rd lowest score by a Centerville team in the pre or post tournament since it was established in 2006. All 6 members of the team were in the top 20 out of 71 players. 4 Elks were in the top 10: 1. Nina Kulkarni 75 (Medalist) 5. Esha Kulkarni 85 t10. Shannon Reilly 91 t10. Alli Schuermann 91 14. Andee Everman 95 20. Christine Fiala 101. Esha, Andee, and Christine played in their first GWOC Tournament and did a great job fighting through the wind and weather changes to help out the team. Sunday, August 5th 1-2pm W228 (CHS) * I will have the door in the back of West Unit open with signs leading to my classroom (upstairs West 228). * The meeting is for players only, but parents can stop in after the meeting (2pm) with any questions about tryouts. * Players can bring their physical and EMA form to the meeting (or turn them in before they leave for tryouts Monday morning). * Players should also bring any scorecards or score information from casual rounds they played this summer. If they played in tournaments I most likely already have this info. * I will go over rules, etiquette, and the tryout process at the meeting. Tryouts Monday (8/6)-Thursday (8/9) * Players need a Physical (given to me or on file) and an EMA Form (given to me) to tryout on Monday. I already have several players who have their physical on file with the AD. I will collect the rest Sunday/Monday. I need to have an EMA form from every player with me at tryouts. You can download these forms from the CHS Athletic website. I will also have a few extra at the meeting. * Players need to ride the bus to and from the tryouts. You need a special form from the AD if players need to go separate. Thursday will be the only day players meet at the course (Yankee Trace). * Players should bring the exact amount of money to pay the courses each day. It is much easier to pay when players have the correct fee. Other Meetings Thursday (8/9) 6:30pm CHS * OHSAA Meeting with the new AD with a brief meeting afterwards with me. Saturday (8/11) 10am CHS/near stadium * Pictures at 10am followed by a Parent Meeting with our Booster Reps if you have any questions please feel free to email me or call, 937-266-1169. Many players (6th-12 grade) and there families showed up Thursday night to play puttat Adventure Golf and eat at Beef O'Brady's. Several Alumni also showed up: Molly Giner ('06), Megan Davis ('10), Kristen Bruggeman ('11), Katie Sloan ('12), and Allsion Sharpe ('12).
